These blogs are meant to help you build and enhance your community’s appearance as well as its public perception using design as your tool.

Did you know that you can align, add padding and size up or size down your images using the IGLOO editor? Here's how…

In the editor menu bar there is an "insert image" function (looks like a tree).

WYSIWYG Editor Bar

When you click on this button a pop-up menu will appear allowing you to choose from an array of open galleries IGLOO has set up for you (these images are free). If you have already created a photo gallery using your community's own gallery then that will show here as well.

Insert Image Box

Select a gallery (I picked the free "Business" gallery) and then an image (graph with pen in colour), once you select an image the next box will pop-up:

Image Sizes

This is where you can choose the size of the image you want to use. "Original" is the largest size available. When you click on a size the Preview will display how large the image will look on your webpage.

The next tab (beside "Preview") is "Properties". This tab allows you to edit the alignment and padding the image will have. Padding is represented by "Vertical Space" and "Horizontal Space". These two fields are measured in pixels and will be added to both sides of your image.

Image Properties

For example, I have added 20 pixels of horizontal space, therefore my image will have 20 pixels of space on both the right and left side of my image.

At the bottom of the box is a preview of what the image will look like. See how the image is nicely left aligned to the text and has an adequate amount of white space (padding) on both sides?

Now you can click on "Insert" at the bottom of the pop-up window to return to the edit page. Below is what it should look like...
